Diversity is everything. Inclusion leads to understanding, demystification, destigmatisation. We are doing fashion to glorify bodies and identities — to include them in a narrative of luxury and beauty.
We believe in an inclusive fashion; empowerment; and putting a stop to retouching, body-shaming, and discrimination. We walk the walk when it comes to being inclusive in every way.
Closuch is Made By REAL people for REAL people.
- We do not retouch bodies
- Our models are REAL people of every shape, size, gender & color;
We want to see more people that look like the women & men we come across in the street. It’s detrimental to young people to not see someone who looks like them because the reality is, we’re all different.
Fashion didn’t create the problem alone, but it does have the power to bring about change
Fashion is not the only industry to promote a very narrow concept of beauty: the film industry also predominantly celebrates young, thin, able-bodied, cis-gender, white women, and the advertising industry is also a real culprit.
However, fashion has a unique place within visual culture, one that is obvious to most in the industry, but far more opaque to those outside: whatever our industry does today will be mirrored in mainstream culture months and often even years later.
We have the power to set the cultural ball rolling. Ideas that originate in fashion’s creative core translate to mainstream fashion and then to mainstream visual culture.
We have the power to change perception, to inspire and #empower:
To show people how to embrace their complications, and see the flaws, and the true beauty and strength that’s inside all of us,
To look beyond color, gender, sexual orientation, origin or religion…
To start Wearing Ourselves Proud#wearyourselfproud #iamnotjust
Let’s start the talk,
Let’s walk the walk, together.
